Imagine That… Hello Fellow Readers!

There are so many thoughts going through my head right now. I know you all know how that feels so I’ll make this a quick introduction. I’ve been writing, it seems, all my life. Well, let me clarify, I’ve liked writing since I won a 3rd grade poetry contest. Isn’t that how it goes? You find something you’re successful at and, boom, you like it. I continued to write poetry and non-fiction throughout school and, of course, for work. But I am relatively new to fiction writing. I started this journey in the 1990s but took a break to head back to work. I started my actual novel writing career after retiring, during a time we’d all like to forget— Covid.
The journey has been incredible, full of learning, failures, fears, and friends. But more than that, it’s been an opportunity to flex my imagination and ask what if… So, I’ve named this newsletter Imagine That…
And that sums up my book, currently in the editing process, Monsters, Mayhem, and Macchiatos. It’s about Evie and her husband, hometown hero Mark, bringing new life to his small town. For Evie, a pixie, that means transforming a haunted furniture store into a coffee shop where her unusual guests, the Aether, can enjoy beverages 24/7. The party’s already started when she finds a baby monster, who may be a prince, hiding in the attic. Evie and her crew work to find the baby’s mama while an old malevolence stalks them and the Aether who gather to help her solve the mystery. The book is a supernatural cozy mystery with a Christian perspective.
I won’t spam your inboxes with multiple newsletters or book promotions. You likely get too many of those already. I’ll publish this newsletter monthly with devotions, some fiction, a bit of comic relief, and fun. I will add a couple of emails a week just to update you on the book’s progress.
As you get to know me, I also want to know you. Please respond to my questions! They will be short, and you can answer them quickly, so let me know what you’re thinking.
So here we go with the first question. When you imagine your most relaxing place, what does your place look like and what are you doing? I am a beach lover, so my perfect sunny day is by the sea with my toes tucked into warm white sand, listening to the waves woosh, with an enjoyable book in my hand. How about you? Looking forward to getting to know you, Fellow Reader!
